Countless clients

Hi, I'm Jeanell, and like you I've experienced pain, illness, and trauma that affected my ability to enjoy life

I know how exhausting that can be, and how vulnerable it can be to seek help. I also know what a relief it is when you finally get the support you need.

I've been doing hands-on bodywork for over twenty years, and I got my massage license specifically so I could specialize in the abdominal massage that profoundly impacted my own life.

I'm trained in both the Mayan and Chinese traditions of abdominal massage, and in Biodynamic touch (an evolution of craniosacral therapy). I combine Biodynamic touch with Process-oriented dialogue. Clients describe my style as fluid, intuitive, and empathetic.

After seeing life-changing results from my somatic work with thousands of clients in massage, yoga therapy, process-oriented bodywork, foot reflexology, and improvisational dance, I still approach every session with an open mind because you are unique and your needs in every session are unique.

I do this work because it's my calling, and if you're called to work with me I'm honored to provide my full presence and attunement to your process.

Jeanell Innerarity and Rosita Arvigo 2013

My healing practice lineage

In 2013, Dr. Rosita Arvigo personally approved me as a Certified (highest level) practitioner of The Arvigo Technique of Maya Abdominal Therapy®*. She wrote on my evaluation, "Good work all around, you got it!" Her work is the reason I went to massage school and I'm honored to practice with the blessings of Rosita and the spiritual blessings of her teachers Don Elijio Panti and Miss Hortence Robinson. The training included traditional herbalism, spiritual bathing (plant spirit medicine), and meditative practice as well.

I studied Chi Nei Tsang for the abdomen with Saumya Comer, in the lineage of Mantak Chia, which deepened my awareness of energetic flow and organ motility in the abdomen.

I studied Biodyanmic touch foundations with Stacy Darby, LAc, LMT, which built upon my initial craniosacral training at the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy.

At the core of my work is also Dreambody work in the Processwork lineage of Dr. Arnold Mindell, with whom I studied as I pursued my Master of Arts in Process Oriented Facilitation and Conflict Studies.

Other methodologies I've studied and practiced in depth and which influence my bodywork style include: The Feldenkrais Method®, Body-mind Centering®, embodyoga®, Yoga Therapy, Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan, Qi Gong, Tai Chi pushing hands, Saolin White Crane Kung fu, Shiatsu, Liz Koch's psoas explorations, Somatic Experiencing®, HearthMath™ biofeedback, foot reflexology, client-centered hypnotherapy, Vipassana meditation in the tradition of S.N. Goenka, and Steve Paxton's "small dance." And there's always more. My greatest teachers are my own body and the bodies of clients I work with.

*Ownership of this trademark has since transferred to Tul'ix. Rosita continues to teach through The Abdominal Therapy Collective.

If you're ready to shift old patterns at a deep, embodied level, then abdominal massage, biodyanmic touch, or dreambody symptom work may be for you!

These types of bodywork might not be for you if:

You have an acute severe health condition

Abdominal massage is contraindicated for recent abdominal cancers or conditions with internal bleeding. Biodynamic touch may be overstimulating to your nervous system or endocrine system if you're already dealing with a severe infection or injury that is actively flared up.

You have a recent severe injury

Abdominal massage and biodynamic touch are both excellent for recovering from injury, especially injuries to the head, sacrum, and tailbone, but if your injury was very recent it's best to seek medical care first and bodywork after your system has had a chance to stabilize itself.

You have trauma that you haven't worked on in a therapeutic setting

Hands-on bodywork can bring up things the conscious mind wasn't aware of. It's important that you have the mental and emotional tools available to integrate what comes up in bodywork. If you believe talking first would be a good start, consider a facilitated Processwork session or the Dreambody work instead. I can also provide referrals.

What if I've never had massage or bodywork before? No problem! Abdominal massage and Biodynamic touch are both great places to start, and I've worked with many first-time massage clients. Dreambody symptom work is also a great place to start because it has low to no touch and you remain fully clothed with the option to move around the room rather than lying on the massage table.

Can I talk to you before I book my first session?Absolutely. Please book a free phone consultation by clicking here or send me a message through my contact page.

Do you bill insurance?I do not bill insurance directly at this time, but I'm happy to provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Whether, and how much, they reimburse you is between you and your insurance company.
